Scar is a rubber-coated ceramic service with a fragile inner core and a strong flexible outer layer. When broken, the rubber protects it from falling into pieces, keeping the shards together, yet still revealing marks on its surface. Treated in this way, ceramics - strongly associated with family traditions - become a metaphorical symbol for interpersonal communication and relationships.
